The rate of cancer diagnosis for teens and young adults is increasing at a rate greater than among any other pediatric age group. A staggering one in every 285 children will be diagnosed with cancer by the time they are twenty years old.
In response to a gap in meaningful experiences designed specifically for seriously-ill teens, we’re developing an immersive outdoor pilot program, we hope to launch this summer, called NatureRx.
NatureRx will provide free outdoor adventures to local teens and young adults with exclusive & specialized adventures to hike, paddle, climb, and stretch themselves beyond their diagnoses. All while under the care of trained professional and medical staff. Our goal is to utilize the healing power of nature to increase resilience, self-esteem, socialization with peers, create a sense of independence, and we need your help to do it.
