CCA Community Investment Report 2017
At CCA, we are JOY SEEKERS. And although you may not realize it yet, YOU are a JOY SEEKER too.
For the last 22 years, we at CCA have asked ourselves repeatedly: what can JOY do?
What if seriously ill children, especially those with cancer, had an equal opportunity to experience the JOYS of childhood?
What if the psychological effects of a serious illness could be eradicated with JOY?
What if we could clinically demonstrate the power of JOY to reduce the perception of pain, anxiety, and stress?
CCA is the only organization working to position JOY as best practice in pediatric hospitals across the nation by delivering innovative programs that transform a moment with music, nature, friendship, and resources.
And in the decades since CCA was founded around my kitchen table, we’ve grown to be one of the largest children’s healthcare organizations in the Pacific Northwest, with bedside programming in children’s hospitals and medical facilities in Oregon and Washington, in Boston, Massachusetts, and, coming soon, in Austin, Texas.
In FY17, CCA focused on delivering exceptional quality, mission impact growth, and evidence-based analytics and results.

As we head into FY18, CCA is laying the foundation for long-term sustainability. We are investing in social impact modeling, lean innovation, and exploring highly scalable solutions in ways never before possible to some of the most compelling challenges kids and teens battling serious illness face today.
At CCA, we stand for JOY. Thanks for standing beside us.
