Amos Lee Brings the Joy to Live From the Heart

Musician Amos Lee performs for JoyRx on a stage, holding a guitar.

On Thursday, April 6, JoyRx celebrated our annual Live From the Heart Benefit Concert in Austin, Texas. This year, our musical guest was Amos Lee, who performed at the iconic ACL Moody Theater in downtown Austin.

Over 1,200 guests attended the concert with nearly 300 guests joining us on the floor of the Moody Theater for our fundraising gala and JoyRx program.

The experience was best in class with the power of purple throughout, featuring keynote speech from JoyRx CEO, Danielle York, live auction and live appeal, and a powerful story from Priscilla Islas-McGaughy about her daughter, Kamari, and their family’s experience with JoyRx Music.

Of course, the main event was the live acoustic performance from Amos Lee, featuring his popular songs and new songs from his latest album.

We ended the night raising $340,000 for JoyRx programming and closed the evening with a larger Austin support network than we could have ever imagined.

“It was a really incredible event,” said one guest. “We go to a lot and that was easily one of the most memorable. Even aside from [Amos Lee’s] performance — the venue, pace of the event, Joy that the attendees had — it was a first-class experience.”
