Cancer Sucks!

At CCA, we know that for seriously ill children and their families, every moment is precious and we’ve made it our mission to transform those moments with joy. That’s why when Blake was diagnosed with clear cell carcinoma at just 2-years-old, CCA was there to deliver the healing power of friendship and music right to his bedside.

It’s absolutely impossible to imagine what it’s like to be in these shoes, the fear and anxiety that families face. But through it all, CCA has been constant and genuine.

During Blake’s hospital stays, CCA’s trained MyMusicRx Specialists would play music with him, helping increase his energy while reducing stress and anxiety. Blake even started walking the halls to find his favorite music specialists so he could play with them on his “happy drum.”

“Blake and I have spent a lot of time in the hospital this year,” said his mom, Renee. “And a lot of times it was visits with the MyMusicRx Specialists that got him up and moving.

CCA also matched Blake with his Chemo Pal, Aunnah. “Every visit with Aunnah turns into an adventure,” said Renee. “She is always focused on making Blake happy, and he is always bursting with joy when she’s around.”

All of CCA’s programs are provided at no cost to kids and families, this is only possible thanks to the generosity of friends like you.

There are families just like Blake’s who could benefit from the healing power of joy right now, and you can help them by supporting CCA this holiday season. You have the power to deliver joy to seriously ill children throughout our community.
