Bedstock 4: Challenge Accepted

This #GivingTuesday MyMusicRx proudly presented Bedstock, our annual online music festival where artists perform from bed in solidarity with sick kids spending the holidays stuck in their hospital beds. This year’s festival has raised a record-breaking $88,000, almost DOUBLE the amount raised last year!

In all, 135 Artists, 15 Kids, and 6 Writers participated this year, with headliners Ed Sheeran, Nick Jonas, Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band, Iron and Wine, The Breeders, and many more. Performances from MyMusicRx kids were filmed at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, Randall Children’s Hospitaland Ronald McDonald House, and award-winning writers like Chuck Palahniuk and Carson Ellis even read their favorite children’s books from bed.

We’re excited to share that we achieved a tremendous 233M media and social impressions for Bedstock, more than DOUBLE our 2016 reach, along with 5.1M views of Bedstock performances from artists and supporters.

Take the #BedstockChallenge

New for 2017, we introduced the #BedstockChallenge. Through the entire month of December, we asked music enthusiasts from all around the world to take part in bringing music to seriously ill kids, and they did not disappoint. We received 1,200+ #BedstockChallenge videos from 48 different countries, making Bedstock a truly GLOBAL event! A special thank you to @PickUpJazz and their passionate Instagram community for leading the response to our challenge.

#BedstockChallenge still going strong, it’s not too late to get involved by following CCA and MyMusicRx on social media and by visiting Bedstock.com to watch, share, and donate. Be sure to share your favorite Bedstock performances online with #Bedstock and film your own #BedstockChallenge.

Thank You

This year’s record-breaking festival could not have happened without incredible support from our partners and sponsors; including a generous contribution from Pearl Jam’s Vitalogy Foundation as part of Entercom Radio 94/7 Alternative Portland’s December 2 Remember concert series.

Many of our one-of-a-kind performances were filmed in Ace Hotel rooms around the world, backstage at Austin City Limits Music Festival, and on Beautyrest beds in Gibson Entertainment Relations Showrooms across the US.

Additional Bedstock partners included The FADER, Cornerstone, Atlantic Records, Columbia Records, Pandora, The Door, Nike, Converse, Sonos, Stumptown Coffee Roasters, and of course, Anomaly, a new model agency whose NYC creative team first conceived of Bedstock as a project in 2013 and has continued to support us entirely pro-bono.

With your support, Bedstock was indeed “Bigger and Bedder” than ever! THANK YOU for making a powerful difference in the lives of seriously ill kids and teens by delivering the healing power of music during the holiday season!
