It was a joyous evening this past Saturday, October 5, as hundreds of our most passionate supporters and new friends came together to celebrate at our annual fundraiser gala, Wonderball.
Friends and supporters of JoyRx gathered together on Monday, August 5, 2024, at the beautiful Willamette Valley Country Club in Canby, Oregon, to tee off for the sixteenth annual CCA Invitational.
For two sunny days, golfers from the Pacific Northwest and beyond came together at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club near Portland, Oregon, to celebrate the fourteenth annual Golf for Joy Tournament.
On Monday, May 20, a joyful group of golfers took to Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club for the fifth annual Golf for Joy Challenge. With the goal to play as many holes of golf as possible from sun-up to sun-down, each swing of the golf club was in support of JoyRx and the children we serve.
On April 21 and 22, 2024, JoyRx welcomed golfers to our second annual Golf for Joy Austin Tournament, presented by NFP. After a successful inaugural event last year, we were thrilled to return to Omni Barton Creek Resort & Country Club for an exciting two-day celebration of joy. Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of supporters like you, we raised more than $245,000 in support of JoyRx Music.
On February 8, 2024, JoyRx celebrated our annual Live From the Heart Benefit Concert presented by Texas Children’s Austin, raising over $350k in support of JoyRx programs to serve seriously ill children and their families.
In partnership with JoyRx, the mission delivery of Children’s Cancer Association, Dick Hannah Dealerships has helped raise $1.87 million for children fighting cancer and other serious illnesses through the JoyRx Car Giveaway.
On September 30, JoyRx hosted its annual fundraiser gala, Wonderball, at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon, where stories of heroes and Joy abound! It was a night filled with entertainment, inspiring speakers, auction packages, and, most important of all: Joy.
Fiscal year 2023 was yet another year of growth and expansion, and we are grateful to you — our incredible community — for your generous support of JoyRx, the mission delivery of Children’s Cancer Association.
On Sunday, September 24, five Catholic High Schools in the Portland metro area came together once again to walk the streets of Portland to support children with cancer. In honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, students from La Salle North Catholic, Jesuit High School, St. Mary’s Academy, Central Catholic, and Valley Catholic teamed up to help raise funds for JoyRx.
Friends of JoyRx, the mission delivery of Children’s Cancer Association, gathered on Sunday, August 6, and Monday, August 7, at the beautiful Oregon Golf Club for the fifteenth annual CCA Invitational 2023. The purpose? To help raise critical funds for seriously ill children.
JoyRx, the mission delivery of Children’s Cancer Association, celebrated thirteen exciting years hosting our annual Golf for Joy Tournament at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club near Portland, Oregon. For over a decade, Golf for Joy has raised more than three million dollars in vital funding to support the continuation of our free, Joy-based programs.
On Monday, April 24, 32 golfers arrived with the rising sun to golf until sundown. Their ambitious challenge? Play as many holes of golf as they can in support of JoyRx, the mission delivery of Children’s Cancer Association.
On Monday, April 24, 2023, JoyRx hosted its inaugural Golf for Joy Austin, presented by NFP. This premier two-day event included a reception and dinner, guest Q&A with PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions professional, Jim Furyk, and a PRO-AM golf experience at the beautiful Omni Barton Creek Resort & Country Club.
On Thursday, April 6, JoyRx celebrated our annual Live From the Heart Benefit Concert in Austin, Texas. This year, our musical guest was Amos Lee, who performed at the iconic ACL Moody Theater in downtown Austin.

On October 29, JoyRx took to the skies with our annual fundraiser gala, Wonderball, at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon. For the first time in three years, we were back in-person with a night filled with amazing entertainment, inspiring speakers, exciting packages, and — of course — Joy.
Ardavan Tabrizian, president, of Delta Sigma Phi, University of Oregon Chapter, shares inspiration of Joy from their 2022 5K Fundraiser, garnering over $20,000 to support JoyRx, the mission delivery of Children’s Cancer Association.
On Sunday, September 25, the six Catholic schools in the Portland metro area came together to participate in the ninth annual Walk for Joy event. In a show of solidarity and compassion, high school students worked to raise funds for JoyRx and raise awareness of pediatric cancer during the month of September.
On Tuesday, August 23, 2022, Gay Davis — co-founder of Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club near Portland, Oregon and generous JoyRx friend — thanked the crowd of golf pros, amateurs, and their families for joining him at the 12th annual Golf for Joy Pro-Am Tournament, his favorite day of the year.
The 2nd / 3rd grade classroom at Resurrection Catholic Primary School (RCPS), located in Tualatin, Oregon, committed to spread Joy for their 2021 – 2022 service project by supporting JoyRx, the mission delivery of Children’s Cancer Association.
On Monday, April 25, 45 golfers put their skills to the test as they embarked on an ambitious challenge to play as many holes as they could in support of Children’s Cancer Association and its JoyRx programs.
On Tuesday, August 24, 2021, Gay Davis—co-founder of Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club near Portland, Oregon and generous CCA friend—thanked the crowd of golf pros, amateurs, and their families for joining him at the eleventh annual Golf for Joy pro-am tournament, his favorite day of the year.
Gathering five Oregonian sports stars, 24 teams of pro and amateur golfers, and their loved ones together at the beautiful Oregon Golf Club for the thirteenth annual CCA Invitational certainly made for a competitive pro-am tournament. But more importantly, it created a powerful force for Joy, raising more than $370,000 in support of CCA’s JoyRx Music program and enabling thousands of sick kids and their families to find Joy and emotional healing while facing the profound hardship of serious pediatric illness.
A decade ago, Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club co-founder and dedicated Children’s Cancer Association (CCA) supporter, Gay Davis, challenged himself to play 100 holes to raise funds for CCA’s Joy-based programs.
Just over 10 years ago, Gay Davis decided to fuse his passion for golf with his desire to help deliver Joy to kids with cancer.
We are honored to present FY19 impact highlights of CCA’s Joy-based programs — including our flagship MyMusicRx program, now established in both Boston, Massachusetts, and Austin, Texas; and our award-winning Chemo Pal Mentor Program, which celebrates its 20th year.
We are very proud to announce that CCA was selected as the Better Business Bureau (BBB) Torch Award’s 2019 Charity of the Year.
The gloomy Oregon weather couldn’t dampen the spirits of students from six local high schools as they took to the streets of Portland for the annual Walk for Joy fundraiser. What started as a community event with Jesuit High School in 1998, has now grown to encompass six local Catholic schools: Jesuit High School Portland, Central Catholic High School, St. Mary’s Academy, Valley Catholic School, La Salle Catholic College Preparatory, and De La Salle North Catholic High School.

The Board of Directors of JoyRx | Children’s Cancer Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Jack Pipkin to Chief Executive Officer, ushering in a new chapter in the leadership of the innovative non-profit on the eve of its thirtieth anniversary year in 2025.
Peter describes it like this: “Many of us have done this: You’re not feeling well, and you don’t know why. So, you look up your symptoms on WebMD to see what’s up.”
Peter was seventeen years old when he typed in his list of issues. He could never have guessed what would happen next.
