Every February, JoyRx partners with local Joy Maker businesses to celebrate joy all month long.
This year, we teamed up with KATU news, local businesses, and members of the community to raise critical funds for our JoyRx Music, Mentorship, and Nature programs.
Through the community’s generosity, we celebrated 29 joyful days with opportunities to raise funds through our car giveaway raffle, paper heart sales at local businesses, peer-to-peer fundraising, and participating in Day of Joy on February 29, 2024.

Visiting the Lowerys at their Oregon City home, you’d think they had four children instead of three. Sophia, Jalen, Hadley and Greyson laugh and joke around as they draw pictures together at the dining room table. It’s hard to tell the Lowerys met Sophia less than a year ago when they were living through their worst nightmare.
KATU met the Sackos family on a special day. This was the first time Kelsey Richards came over to the Sackos home with her big duffel bag full of games and toys.
Before Oliver Sanchez was born, his mother, Rebecca Garrett Sanchez, learned he had a congenital heart defect. At three months old, he had open heart surgery.
