On Monday, April 24, 32 golfers arrived with the rising sun to golf until sundown. Their ambitious challenge? Play as many holes of golf as they can in support of JoyRx, the mission delivery of Children’s Cancer Association.

On Monday, April 24, 2023, JoyRx hosted its inaugural Golf for Joy Austin, presented by NFP. This premier two-day event included a reception and dinner, guest Q&A with PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions professional, Jim Furyk, and a PRO-AM golf experience at the beautiful Omni Barton Creek Resort & Country Club.

On Thursday, April 6, JoyRx celebrated our annual Live From the Heart Benefit Concert in Austin, Texas. This year, our musical guest was Amos Lee, who performed at the iconic ACL Moody Theater in downtown Austin.

April is Volunteer Appreciation Month and we at JoyRx, the mission delivery of Children’s Cancer Association, are so grateful for our volunteers. We wouldn’t be able to do our healing without the dedication and kindness of our amazing volunteers.

For children who love playing and embarking on adventures, bumps and bruises are common and are often nothing to worry about. A parent can give their child a hug and an ice pack, and most kids are back on their feet ready to play again. However, for the now five-year-old daughter of Madiha, the bump on her finger was life-changing.

When Jaimi first reached out to JoyRx, her request was simple: a song for her four-year-old son, James. Located in Alaska, James wasn’t receiving his treatment at a JoyRx-served healthcare partner facility, but Jaimi heard about JoyRx though an online support group and hoped for a connection through our Digital Live offering.

Is there music played in hospitals? That’s a resounding yes! JoyRx celebrated the St. Patrick’s Day spirit with a concert just for Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin, Texas.   

We’re thrilled to announce our newest hospital partner for 2023. Oklahoma Children’s Hospital OU Health, located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, joined the JoyRx family in February, bringing our total hospital partners to 33.   

International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 8 is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.  

Every February, JoyRx, the mission delivery of Children’s Cancer Association, partners with local Joy Maker businesses to celebrate Joy all month long. This year, we partnered with KATU News, iHeart Radio, other local businesses, and members of the community to raise critical funds for our JoyRx Music, Mentorship, and Nature programs.

Every February, Unitus supports JoyRx and the kids and families to whom it brings the healing power of Joy. The delight and warmth that JoyRx inspires cannot be measured, but it can be felt. You can feel it when you support the JoyRx mission and through the Joy that you bring to kids like 11-year-old Xavier Waldow.

The holiday season can be a source of great Joy for families — and one mother is dedicated to giving back to the community by hosting an annual toy drive for JoyRx Mentorship.

JoyRx is thrilled to join hundreds of nonprofits for participation in Amplify Austin on March 1, 2023. Amplify Austin is a 24-hour day of giving for Austin area nonprofits, hosted by I Live Here I Give Here.
