If you had asked me two years ago to describe my family, I would have said we were the typical Washington family… But in the summer of 2017, our four-year-old daughter, Lyla, was diagnosed with a Wilms tumor.
After being diagnosed with ALL, Kira knew her future would be filled with long months of treatment in the hospital. What she didn’t know was that she would find a support system rooted in joy.
12-year-old Ella hosted her very own Joy Party to raise money for MyMusicRx, which delivers the healing power of music to kids and teens in the hospital. With her friends she raised $3,000 for the program!
What inspires Monse? The brilliant colors of the sunset. As a budding photographer, this creative 16-year-old likes capturing the pinks, purples, and blues that she loves so much. She also enjoys painting, exploring new places, and playing the ukulele.
Music has always been a big part of Justus’ life. As a toddler, he loved belting out “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” on his toy microphone; by age three, he was already starting to sing harmonies. “He was quite the little ham,” said his dad Jason.
